Chairman of Harcourts International School

A Message from the Chairman

Harcourts International School started in the year 1983, then known as Crescent International School. It has come to be known as HIS in the year 2011, and is today located in its own premises- Anderson Road, Dehiwela, set up in a 120-perch land with state of the art infrastructure including a fully equipped science lab, audio visual room, library and swimming pool.

The school is ably piloted by Mrs. Minsharf Imthiaz, the Director of Studies  & Head of School, with a wide experience specifically in managing girls’ schools. The school is well staffed and has an emphasis on discipline, morality and religion. Although small in number we are very high in spirits. Lot of extracurricular activities are encouraged for well-rounded individuals and essential academics are inculcated within a pleasant homey environment, a striking feature at HIS.

In academics the school has been able to produce good number of students entering higher education and the school maintains an incredible reputation for ethics and values. It truly inspires excellence.

Harcourts International School (HIS) has a proud legacy. Since its inception, HIS has been dedicated to delivering quality education for girls, fostering a beautiful blend of academic pursuit and strong moral values. This commitment embodies the true spirit of the Islamic saying, ‘Seeking knowledge is seeking paradise.’ At HIS, we cater to both the Edexcel and Local curriculum, providing our students with a diverse and comprehensive educational experience that prepares them for success in both national and international contexts.

HIS stands as a beacon among international schools. We offer an inspirational model, seamlessly integrating modernity with the values of modesty. Our core principles emphasize dedicated, individualized instruction. This unique blend allows our students to thrive, ensuring their education stands the test of time.

Our school motto, "Inspiring Excellence," is more than just words. It's the driving force behind our students' achievements. Harcourtians consistently reach for the highest pinnacles, demonstrating equal enthusiasm for academic excellence, sports, and co-curricular activities.

I am incredibly proud of our dedicated management team, our passionate staff, and of course, my dear students. Together, we have created a pleasant place of learning, a nurturing environment where young women can flourish.

My appointment as Head of School has further ignited my passion for advocating for girls' education. InSha' Allah, with unwavering dedication, we will strive to empower the next generation of women, shaping them into worthy leaders who will contribute significantly to the progress of our nation.

Jazakallahu Khairan for entrusting your daughters to HIS. We look forward to an even brighter future, together.
